Who wants to do a good old fashion lifting competition? We think it sounds like a lot of fun!
How’s this all going to work? We will ADD UP your 1RM lifts for bench press, back squat, and deadlift. Ladies, if you can lift an accumulation of 500 lbs, you will win a 500 lb club t-shirt. Perhaps you’ll even try for 750 lbs? Gentlemen, if you can lift an accumulation of 1,000 lbs, you will win a 1,000 lb club t-shirt. Perhaps you’ll even try for 1,250 lbs? An example would be: 155lb Bench Press + 285lb Back Squat + 310lb Deadlift = 750lb club!
Sounds like fun right? The bracket options are split up as follows: 500lbs, 750lbs, 1,000lbs, 1,250lbs, 1,500lbs. Overall winner will be the one who lifts the most for all 3 lifts.
A $30 entry fee gets you into the competition.
Athletes that successfully follow all the rules will earn a custom t-shirt. T-shirts are only earned by following all rules and movement standards. So be sure to read through all the rules and movement standards. T-shirts will be printed individually for everyone after the competition is completed.
Find your max cumulative total for the following three lifts in this order:
1 Rep Max Bench Press
1 Rep Max Back Squat
1 Rep Max Deadlift
All athletes will find their 1RM bench press before moving on to the back squat. The deadlift will be last. A starting weight will be determined for all athletes, based on what they guess their 1RM will be. We can split this in to different groups, based on athletes expected 1RM number. For example, someone who guesses their 1RM bench press is 200-225lbs, will not be in the same group of athletes that guess their 1RM bench press is 125-150lbs.
All athletes will attempt to lift the first weight once. All those who successfully followed the movement standard, will get back in line for the second attempt, which will be heavier. All those who successfully followed the movement standard at the heavier weight, will get back in line for the third attempt, which will be heavier. All remaining athletes can use 2 more attempts to find their 1RM.
